Everything Announced at Sony’s PlayStation Showcase May 2023

Sony organized its biggest PlayStation Showcase Event in over 620 days on 24 May, giving all its major attention to third-party and first-party titles arriving on PlayStation 5 and PS VR2. Fans were served with a load of new video game announcements and trailer reveals, including the most anticipated 12 min gameplay release of the Spider-Man 2 video game.

They also announced a "remote play" PlayStation handheld device currently titled -"Project Q" along with pretty cool PS5 gaming earbuds. The gaming handheld has more of a Nintendo Switch-like feel with a redesigned Dual Sense controller attached.

This handheld gaming will connect with PlayStation 5 consoles and allow the players to play PS5 games remotely without any hard-core gaming setup. PlayStation's remote play device "Project Q", will supposedly launch later this year. Though, its design & specs are subject to change based on the little ‘*’ information displayed at the button of the teaser. 

Spider-Man 2 Took Major Spotlight

With a 12 min of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 gameplay trailer reveal Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2 video game stole the show.

No wonder the game seems super engaging & expanding. Its map with the long bridges and narrow alleys of Manhattan gives players an intimate connection with the Spidey's home. Apart from the storyline & some new features revealed in the suits of Miles Morales & Peter, the villain Kraven and all of his friends (and seemingly enemies)were a bonus for the audience bringing them to the edge of their seats.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is arriving on PlayStation 5 in the Fall of 2023.

First-Party Games Revealed at PlayStation Showcase 2023

PlayStation Showcase 2023 was a celebration of many exciting game reveals involving:

1. Fairgame$- it is an upcoming heist shooter game by Haven Studios that might interest all the quest-loving gamers out there! They even ended their cinematic trailer reveal with a unique QR Code for users to scan & directly reach their websites to register for updates.

2. Marathon is a whole new wonder in development from the studios of Bungie. It is a sci-fi multiplayer shooter game whose release date was not disclosed, but worry not, we’ll keep a watch on it. The company also showed off another title update coming from their curation in Destiny 2 titled The Final Shape. To get more details stay tuned with the Destiny-focused showcase happening in August.

3. Another splendid game Concord was uncovered by FireWalk Studios at PlayStation Showcase 2023. It was hard NOT to get immersed in its cinematic teaser trailer right from the beginning. The game is probably set in space featuring guns and space burgers (based on the slow-Mo video that’s what we got!). Concord will be released on PlayStation 5 and PC next year. 

Whereas to cover the third-party reveals, astounding gameplay reveals for Assassin's Creed Mirage, Allan Wake 2, and Helldivers 2 was showcased at the event.
