Insomniac Game Confirms Spider-Man 2 Is A Single-Player Game Not Co-Op

Insomniac Games to everyone’s shock confirmed that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is a single-player game, and it will not feature as co-op.

A big buster for many Spiderman fans happened on Twitter when a user asked the Insomniac studio if the upcoming Spider-Man 2 game was going to be a co-op, and to everyone’s surprise, Insomniac replied, "Nope! It is an epic single-player adventure!" 

Yeah! Almost everyone by far now assumed that Spider-Man 2 might be a co-op because of its base storyline comprising two Spider-man characters including Miles Morales and Peter Parker. But this official reply has wiped many hopes for those who were fantastic to swing around Manhattan with a friend together. 

Co-op certainly made some sort of sense before considering the two Spider-Man characters but it looks like that won't be the case.

Insomniac's answer also brings more shock to the voice actor for Miles in the game, Nadji Jeter, who once teased at SacAnime Summer 2022 that co-op was a possibility for Spider-Man 2.

For those who don’t know Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is set to launch in Fall 2023 exclusively for PS 5 gamers. No official release date has been confirmed yet, still Venom's voice actor, Tony Todd, seemingly revealed that it would be somewhere near September 2023.

The game is going to be much more gothic than its predecessor and you can even find a free prequel comic book of this storyline released on May 6, that introduced a new villain into the story called The Hood. Whereas Sony's next PlayStation showcase Event is set to happen on Wednesday, May 24. Hence, it's a high probability that Spider-Man 2 release date confirmation might occur in the showcase too.
