NFL & Mythical Games Team Up for NFL Rival- New Blockchain/NFT Video Game Coming Soon

Popular Football giant NFL has launched its first blockchain-based game for mobile as well as Apple users. Check out what more they’ve offered for Blockchain geeks.

The National Football League and NFL Players Association are ready to enter the world of Web 3 gaming with their recently launched first-ever blockchain-based game- NFL Rivals on the App Store and Google Play stores. The game was released on Wednesday in collaboration with gaming technology studio Mythical Games.

The blockchain game allows players to lead their teams like the general manager and play as their favorite players in arcade-style gameplay. Along with that, an added bonus of Blockchain technology allows users to purchase, collect, and trade unique digital items earned in the form of NFTs. Players can easily exchange their special events and in-game rewards gained from the NFL Rivals blockchain game.

Talking about their collaboration journey,  Ed Kiang, VP of video gaming at the NFL said-

“Collaborating with Mythical Games and the NFLPA to produce an innovative gaming experience such as NFL Rivals is a testament to the NFL’s success in the world of Web3 gaming,”

From Thursday to Saturday, Players can explore the NFL draft which will be full of draft-themed in-game events. You can participate in buying player packs that will convert the drafts into actual players of the game. It is surely a new opportunity for the entire team of NFL Rival to explore an evolving world of Web 3 gaming. 

Supporting such a choice, the Mythical Games CEO John Linden stated that the game will have more capabilities that wouldn’t otherwise be feasible with typical game technology.

And making these Web3 capabilities possible for NFL Rival is the transition of Mythical Chain from Ethereum to a Parachain on the Polkadot ecosystem. Based on Linden’s assessment this major transition in Mythical Games will be more scalable. By far on the basis of Linden’s analysis Mythical Chain has gained 3.2 million on-chain gaming transactions over the past 30 days.

“...playing for massive scale, massive audiences,” is currently a significant motto in Linden’s head.

The blockchain game NFL Rival also receives the structural benefit of Polkadot which is bonded with para chains. These chains are project-specific and are integrated into the Polkadot ecosystem.
